There is one currency – Super Credits – which can be bought with real money, but developer Arrowhead Game Studios has insisted that the stuff this buys (mostly body armour and helmets) isn’t necessary for progression, and you can earn Super Credits in the game anyway. I’ve certainly not felt the need to buy anything while levelling up over many, many hours of play.

But also, with friendly fire active at all times your actions could also be the downfall of your squad, making it even more important to play tactically.

Your duty as an enlisted member of the force is to capture enemy planets and defend against invasions, which will undoubtedly help protect managed democracy.

Plus, some elements of the post-processing, like the screen-space reflections, didn't give very much of an Unreal impression to me. It turns out that the game is using a modified version of the discontinued Autodesk Stingray game engine, which makes more sense. A variant of this engine powered the excellent Warhammer 40K: Darktide, and while Helldivers 2 isn't quite as striking, I think the game looks strong overall. But Environmental critiques are fine but perhaps miss the point: Helldivers 2 is an action-packed title, and much of your time is spent engaging with the game's insect and robotic foes. Even if you’re playing on easy you’ll want to nab all samples and yellow beams you find. Those yellow beams give you credits for better unlocks, including the kind you can pay for in the shop, and don’t worry if your buddy gets to them first. The contents will be distributed to your team.

Helldivers 2 is a sci-fi third-person co-op Helldivers 2 Gameplay PvE shooter published by PlayStation Studios and developed by Arrowhead Game Studios. In it, players are put into the shoes of a "Helldiver" — a heavily armed and armored space marine that fights to defend humanity and "Super Earth" from extra-terrestrial threats such as alien bugs called Terminids or a race of technologically advanced and militaristic robots called the Automatons.

Performance vs quality mode on PlayStation 5. Essentially it's a choice between an uneven 30fps at 1728p or a relatively solid 60fps at 1080p, with both seemingly combining TAA with FSR 1-style upscaling to a 2160p/4K output.

fantastic takedown of Imperial capitalism, is just as sharp today as it was when it hit theaters in 1997. The movie follows a young soldier named Johnny Rico as he enlists in the United Citizen Federation’s military to go colonize the galaxy.

Helldivers 2 is a mighty fun time especially with friends, family, and anyone you might want to “accidentally” flatten with a supply package.

Doing so would get you more rewards, but it may leave your timer to 0 and you wouldn’t be able to use your stratagems or support items that you call down from your ship anymore.
